apartment complex. all you could hear was kids screaming and crying. everyone thought we were going to die. it was terrible. reporter: a giant tree sliced right through it. 40 residents representing 15 households are now displaced. many of them are staying at a local hotel thought they were having to leave, but an extension of help is coming just in time. you just pray for god that that was your last minute and breath on earth and just after that, you just want people to reach out. the most significant damage was sustained by the apartments. reporter: monday evening, the council meeting kicked off with a city manager s assessment of the damage and assistance being provided to the victims. there were definitely injuries and things of concern but none that people could recover from that was just a miracle. reporter: vacant apartments have been identified for displaced residents and the manna food center is providing three days worth of meals, and that s not all.
