The first of back-to-back non-West Coast League games for the Raptors before a six-game road trip started with a bang when John Peck hit a two-run home run in the first inning as Ridgefield would rack up 10 hits that included three homers.
KEY MOMENTS: Kody Darcy and Micah McDowell hit back-to-back home runs in the sixth inning. Darcy’s was a two-run shot and the Raptors had a comfortable 6-1 lead.
KEY PLAYERS: Raptors starting pitcher Jett Lodes struck out six batters in his three innings. … Peck went 3 for 4 with a double, home run and four RBI plus a stolen base. … McDowell, hitting ninth, was 3 for 3 with a double, home run, three runs scored and two stolen bases.

RIDGEFIELD – It’s fitting that the Ridgefield Raptors and Yakima Valley Pippins closed their season series with an old-fashioned slugfest.
Ridgefield won 13-9 on Thursday in a battle of the West Coast League’s highest-scoring teams.
The second straight win over the Pippins was extra satisfying, considering Ridgefield had dropped all three games last week in Yakima.

Nico Zeglin managed to pull off a feat that had eluded his peers for 18 long and painful innings this season he silenced the Oregon State Beavers’ red-hot lineup.
Zeglin pitched five strong innings and the Gonzaga Bulldogs finally held the Beavers’ offense at bay, earning a 5-2 win Tuesday night to split a two-game non-conference baseball series at Goss Stadium.
