LAHORE: Lahore Development Authority (LDA) signed an agreement with Bank of Punjab (BOP) for Rs10billion for the construction of 4,000 apartments here on Wednesday. The signing ceremony was held under the chair of Chief Minister Usman Buzdar. LDA DG Ahmed Aziz Tarar and BoP chairman Zafar Masood signed the agreement for constructing 4,000 apartments for LDA City Naya Pakistan Apartments over an area of 800 kanals. The BOP will provide resources for the project. According to the agreement, the LDA will construct and allot apartments through balloting and will also be responsible for the maintenance of building infrastructure. The BOP will receive applications, issue letters of comfort to expected allottees along-with the provision of soft loans to successful applicants under Islamic mortgage financing. The project amount will be ring-fenced.

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Wednesday said the prime minister’s vision of providing roof to the shelterless has been materialised by the Punjab government as banks and the public sector have joined hands to provide residential facilities to the common man.
He was addressing a ceremony for the signing of a Rs10 billion agreement between Lahore Development Authority and the Bank of Punjab at his office.

LAHORE: The participants of a meeting chaired by Senior Punjab Minister Abdul Aleem Khan at the Chief Minister s House discussed the new local body system.
The meeting was participated by Provincial Ministers including Law Minister Raja Basharat, Mian Mahmood ur-Rasheed, Hashim Javan Bakht, Sibtain Khan, Mian Khalid Mehmood, Hasnain Bahadur Dareshak, Sardar Asif Nikai, Chaudhry Akhlaq Hussain and Chaudhry Zaheer-ud-Din in which various proposals were presented for the establishment of new local bodies in Punjab. The reorganization of the local government system included formation of Municipal Committees, Town Committees and Metropolitan Corporations in various cities of the province.
World Bank delegation calls on Chief Minister Punjab
Lahore, January 27, 2021 (PPI-OT): A delegation of World Bank led by its country director Mr Najy Benhassine called on Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar at his office on Tuesday. The meeting agreed to enhance cooperation while discussing progress made on different initiatives of infrastructural development.
The CM, while assuring to achieve different targets, said the World Bank is the most important development partner of the Punjab government and vowed to achieve the targets of development framework 2022-26. The government welcomes the WB assistance and the cooperation will also be continued in future, he added. The government is working on a plan to overcome children’s nutritional deficiency while health and educational facilities are being improved at grassroots.
