I know Japan has very different standards when it comes to violence in media compared to the U.S. and other countries, but the violence in KnY it s just a tad gorier compared to other Shonen Jump titles like Dragon Ball and Saint Seiya though not as much as Fist of the North Star. I mean, I grew up watching the uncensored version of DB and neither I nor my parents found it too violent/scary for me, so I guess kids in Japan watch the show and read the manga without problem, save for the ocasional kid who gets scared.
