The state number-crunching agency found that there were nearly 133,000 students in education leading to a university of applied sciences degree last year. This figure was four percent higher compared to 2019. The number of students studying for a master s degree at a university of applied science also increased, up by more than 12 percent to about 16,000.

Unifi, the organisation that represents Finland s universities, said plans for the examinations had been drawn up taking into account the prevailing pandemic situation and the necessary safety arrangements.
