Assam Rifles and the Customs Preventive Force seized the foreign-origin cigarettes worth Rs 2.38 crore, contained in 109 cases, suspected to have been illegally imported from neighbouring Myanmar, was recovered in east Mizoram s Champhai district.
The Narcotics Control Bureau, Zonal Unit of Guwahati, busted an inter-state syndicate/network of drugs and seized 7.198 kg of methamphetamine on Friday.
The Tripura police on Saturday seized 60,000 methamphetamine tablets, also known as ‘Yaba’ tablets, worth Rs 6 crore and arrested three drug peddlers, officials said.
According to the Mizoram police, 35-year-old drug peddler Lianchithanga was apprehended for possession of the contraband comprising Methamphetamine tablets, also known by the street name of Yaba.
