Of an organization that is how many have grown out of that though. Every time you kill one, you get 10 or 20 more to join the cause. So are we winning . And it has helped the iraqi forces, the partners and kurds Iraqi Security forces retake key strategic areas. In five months, i think there is limbed and preliminary but significant evidence that this combination of limited u. S. Force and partners is working. I appreciate your time. Im out of time. Thank you, mr. Chairman. I thank the member from florida. Well we appreciate the time of all of our witnesses here today. Not new and not the most sophisticated of attacks. The scale and speed at which this happened was unprecedented and made the attacks very difficult to defend a dense against. A sophisticated virus also wiped out more than 30,000 computers at a Saudi Arabian state oil company. There has been a lot of talk over the years about hypothetical dangers and it has become a bit of a cliche in Cyber Security circles. I would argue that the threat of a catastrophic and damaging cyber attack in the united dates in the United States is becoming less hypothetical every day. Is a clear attack example that our adversaries have the intent and capability to launch damaging attacks. Moreover, there are growing reports, attempts to breach the networks and Industrial Control Systems of our electric power operators. Foreign cyber actors are probing networks and have gained access to those systems. Trojan horse malware that has been a charity to russia has detected on Industrial Control Software for a wider
Complete deniability. If i was the United States or the iranians i would want to keep it that way. Mark, in your presentation you mentioned that in iraq and the United States and iran are kind of tacitly in alignment supporting the central government, perceived as a broader shiite government. In syria the interests begin to diverge over the future of assad. How do you see that tension playing out over time, particularly when you have u. S. Forces in iraq where you also have iranian forces. Some inadvertent action that run up against each other how do you see these issues getting worked out over time . He makes this intriguing prospect of American Forces in iraq somehow not fighting advisers there are going to be engaged in combat. That is very much a disagreement depending on whether you talk to someone at the pentagon are at the white house. Certainly the chairman of the joint chiefs of staff have indicated that the pentagon envisions they will be working with iraqi forces on the grou
Wood of passed a bill with the minority of the republican caucus. This really point out the difference between how house election work. House collections work district by district. Republican majority is builton white congressional districts. On a National Election the chosen by a statewide, so coming out of 2012 the speaker of the house was quite worried about the prison obama won 39 of white ith voters. Voters not need white because he won 80 of minority voters. Our statutory authority. Increasingly we are finding ourselves unable to read what we find or unable to open a new device. That is serious. I think encryption is a good thing. I think there are tremendous societal impacts to encryption. Not only lock your cars, but you should encrypt things that are important to you. We have a collision in this country getting closer and closer to a head on, which is our important interest in privacy and our important interest in public safety. The logic of universal encryption is inexorable, that our authority under the fourth amendment, and amendment i think is critical to liberty and the right oversights to obtain information is going to become increasingly irrelevant. As all of our lives become digital, the logic of encryption is all of our lives will be covered by encryption. Terrorists and spies will be in a place that is utterly unavailable to courtordered process. That i think should be very concerning. I think we need to have a conversation ab
