For years, Facebook, now called Meta, has pushed the narrative that it was a neutral platform in Myanmar that was misused by malicious people and failed to moderate violent and hateful material adequately.
Meta, the parent company of Facebook, recently held a press briefing in Dhaka where representatives of the tech giant spoke candidly regarding its initiatives to protect the privacy of its users in the region.
The advisory board is made up of "individuals of various specializations, dynamic perspectives and deep expertise who will provide insights, connect networks and share experiences in building and scaling technology companies in the region", Carsome said.
