BBC Weather forecasters have warned more snowfall in some eastern parts of the country could see the areas hit by up to 15cm of snow on Monday. The Met Office has issued a new weather warning covering large parts of Lancashire. This came into force at 12am this morning (February 8) and will run until 11.59pm on Wednesday.

Sunday saw gales of 50mph and heavy snow hit the nation, and this morning many areas of the UK woke up to a further dusting. The Met Office forecast indicates the South East and eastern England, in particular, will see significant snowfall today, along with areas of northern England and Scotland.
