The Government of Malaysia, together with the Minister of Finance Inc (MoF Inc), 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) and four of its subsidiaries had informed the High Court that they have withdrawn their suit against partners of the audit firm KPMG.

KUALA LUMPUR: The government of Malaysia, Minister of Finance Inc (MoF Inc), 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) and four of its subsidiaries have filed a suit against 44 partners of accounting firm KPMG, seeking US$5.6 billion for alleged breach of contract and negligence in auditing 1MDB s financial statements for the financial year between 2010 and 2012.
Through the court e-filing system, the government, MoF Inc, 1MDB and its four subsidiaries, namely 1MDB Energy Holdings Limited, 1MDB Energy Limited, 1MDB Energy (Langat) Limited and Global Diversified Investment Company Limited, formerly known as 1MDB Global Investments Limited, as the plaintiffs filed the suit on July 6 in the High Court here through law firm Messrs Shearn Delamore & Co.
