Coleman said police launched an investigation Wednesday after receiving notification of the charges from the Municipal Court Magistrate’s Office.
Franklin, who joined the department as a patrol officer in 2019, has been placed on administrative leave.
Montgomery police on Saturday announced 36-year-old Officer Nathaniel Miles is charged with using his official position for personal gain. Lt. Jarrett Williams said the investigation was launched Friday and Miles was immediately placed on administrative leave. He was on duty when the alleged crime happened.
