Major Turkish berry grower benefits from multi-parameter soil measurements The Turkish company SBR Agricultural Products (SBR) was founded in 1990 and operates in the Mersin Silifke region of Turkey. It specialises in the cultivation of fruit, especially berries – using cutting edge techniques. Its growing facilities are substantial – with 400,000 square metres of hydroponic strawberry greenhouses, and separate 50,000 square meter production areas for raspberry, blackberry and blueberry. SBR staff have been using the Delta-T Devices WET Kit since 2018 to help manage their hydroponic strawberry production – taking critical measurements of moisture and pore EC (Electrical Conductivity) of the water around the plant roots, several times each day. These measurements are used by their crop managers to finetune fertigation, in order to maintain optimal water and nutrient levels for each crop.
