A fifth person has died in southeast Queensland's worst floods in a decade, which have triggered the evacuation of hundreds of people and cut off towns and suburbs.
Five people are now confirmed dead across Queensland after relentless rain caused by a slow-moving weather system lashed south-eastern parts of the state in the past 24 hours.
QFES Commissioner Greg Leach has paid tribute to SES volunteer Merryl Dray, 62, who died after a vehicle was swept off the road by floodwaters on Friday night.
