Centenarian Wilma Areta Coke is being remembered in a memorial service today, March 13, which started at 10:30 a.m. outside the Ojai United Methodist Church (120 Church Road), and there wil be a Zoom memorial for her at the same time.

The beloved retired school bus driver was feted with a parade, including school buses, outside her home to celebrate her 100th birthday on Feb. 21.
She was born Feb. 5, 1921, and passed peacefully at home in Ojai just 16 days after her surprise parade.
Her family wrote: We would like to thank the community for honoring her with a parade in front of her house to celebrate her milestone. She was grateful and surprised!
Merle E. Hutchison
On Dec. 16, 2020, Merle E. Hutchison passed away in his home after months of declining health. He was born Dec. 2, 1938, in Kittanning, Pa.. to the late Elnora J. (Shaffer) and Harry R. Hutchison, He graduated in 1956 from Ford City Junior – Senior High School before joining the U.S. Navy.
Merle was employed at Texas Instruments, MRC, Northrup Corp., as an independent longhaul trucker, bus driver, property manager, and many, many more. He was an avid CB radio user and tech geck. He loved to fish and crack jokes, especially towards the skinny broad, Robin.
Merle leaves behind five children: Joseph, Victoria (Chris), Mark, Merle Jr., and Denise; three stepchildren; 16 grandchildren; and countless great-grandchildren. Merle passed before meeting his first great-greatgrandchild due early next year, whom he was looking forward to meeting.
