Shell replace bob mahaffey who chose not to run for reelection. Westergaard is a realtor and served as president of the Douglas Acres Neighborhood Association for sixteen years. She also founded the Northeast Neighbors and friends group. She says that experience will help her in her new position. One of her Top Priorities is to invest new amenities in neighborhoods that will attract families. That is when clouds will be increasing from the west with the approaching storm. Friday morning will be mainly dry and cloudy across central iowa with precipitation starting up in the afternoon for locations mainly north of the metro. Temperatures here in the metro will start off in the upper 20s, but should rise close to 40 by mid afternoon. That will help keep the snow accumulation away for most of the afternoon with a rain snow mix possible before 5 pm. Be wet with rain starting to move across the state by saturday night. On sunday, a strong storm system will pass through the midwest, bringing heavy rain to central and eastern iowa. An inch or rain will be possible, especially in eastern iowa where the highest totals will be possible.
