Wilhelmsen and Østensjø each own 50% of Edda Wind. Anticipating long-term growth for the renewable energy sector, the company has placed an order for two additional commissioning service operation vessels (CSOV), bringing its fleet up to eight.
Launched in 2018, Edda Wind owns and operates service vessels supporting the maintenance work conducted during the commissioning and operation of offshore wind parks.

The two additional newbuildings will be constructed at Astilleros Gondan in Spain, with delivery planned for 2023 and 2024. They add to four vessels on order and an existing fleet of two vessels in operation.

Aion, krill harvest giant Aker BioMarine s recycling company, named Omjer Gehrken Hjeltnes as its strategy and business development director.
Hjeltnes has been managing strategy and innovation within Kjell Inge Rokke-controlled Aker BioMarine since 2019. Now, she is tasked with framing Aion s strategy and business plan, after being instrumental in the early development of the new firm.
Before joining Aker BioMarine, Hjeltnes worked as a management consultant with innovation and transformation consultancy firm PA Consulting.
Runa Haug Khoury, formerly director of sustainability and public affairs at Aker BioMarine, has been named Aion s new CEO.
AION began as the brainchild of an Aker BioMarine employee, and is one of several circular economy initiatives at the group designed to reduce the company s plastic waste and production residues.

The Kingfish Company said in an 8 February company update the expansion of its two recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) facilities in the United States and at its headquarters in Kats, The Netherlands are “advancing as planned.”
The company, which successfully listed on the Euronext Growth exchange (formerly known as the Oslo Stock Exchange’s Merkur Market) in November 2020, said its installed capacity for growing yellowtail kingfish will grow from its current 1,250 metric tons (MT) to between 8,000 and 11,000 MT by 2023 across both sites.
