In this parking lot is mostly this slushy stuff that were seeing underneath my feet. For the most part everyone weve talked to here in Calvert County told us they were impressed with how quickly they were able to clear the roadways and side streets throughout the county today. Calvert county as much as seven inches of snow in some areas. It wasnt the hardest hit in the state. That went to st. Marys county where one area saw as much as nine inches on the ground today. We found several people trying to clean up their driveways pretty early this morning. Trying to get it done before it started to refreeze. It hasnt been too bad. Early on it was very nice. Snow was light. That around the road where they started from the scraping and from the snow plows, its getting a little heavy. As it goes on its getting its getting a little heavier. Its not bad at all. And it seems most of the plows and the crews that weve seen working in this parking lot throughout the day have now all left for the day

It was our most snow we have had so far this winter around the metro area. Areas to the south had the highest totals. And yesterday was around four to eight inches. Thats what we ended up getting. And in waldorf, five to six inches was common. We had totals of six to seven inches from stafford through southern prince county and around culpepper as well. So this was enough snow certainly for fun to have in the snow with sledding and making snow angels. Its not good packing though. Temperatures right now are hovering in the low 20s in washington. Schools across the area were closed today, but with more snow and dangerously cold temperatures expected the rest of the week Stephanie Ramirez asked area School Officials if more cancellations could be on the horizon. Shes live at lemon Road Elementary School in falls church where kids are still enjoying their day off. Reporter its a closed but packed Elementary School and this is why. Lemon Road Elementary School has one of the best sledding hills in the area. A lot of parents and kids here wondering if kneel get a chance to do this theyll get a chance to do this again later this week. 11yearold Nathaniel Hughes didnt waste any time outside with schools closed today and even though the sun later came out he and his mother still say schools needed to be closed.
