Jeff spent 13 years at the washington post. Im not sure that is where you learn how to write well but that is certainly where you learn how to get a good story and by the end he was running the outlook section and then he went to the new yorker and was a Senior Editor there for nearly 13 years and that is a place where you learn to write well and help others write well. Besides writing nonfiction, jeff has written three, four, i guess four works of fiction. So this is someone who understands the importance of narrative and of a good story. In the constitution, and so theres an expectation that speakers are there to represent the house of representatives with the senate and the American People. The practical matter the speaker is responsible for ensuring that the house operates correctly, ensuring that legislation is enacted, helping to develop the agenda, interacting with the president , interacting with the American People, and ensuring that in general the house is working the will of the people. Could anyone be the speaker of house . You have to be a member of the house for . Technically you do not. The house shall choose it speaker. So in theory anyone can run for speaker of the health. As a practical matter its always been a member of the house of representatives, but that is not a limitation that the constitution imposes on the selection of the speaker. How partisan is the post . Small groups, families, large communities especially in the small swamp all over the south. In sheer numbers you know what to me is unique in that place in the resistance story is that they were unique in many ways. And even less underground. Also they added a special kind of a freedom. They raised their food and nobody else was. When they created a mentality to life in the white hegemony. When somebody would run away to the south which was two cities or when people would run away to the north to canada or for free blacks they all lived under the control segregated and discriminated against and there were things that they were not allowed to do. If only the maroons were and they created that alternative to life and the slavery south and in the free north. And what i conceive of that is also the fact that you know these ideals of voluntary separation, this is something that exists within the Africanamerican Community and you find that actually in many different forms whether its cultura
