HOUSEBUILDERS say their new Inverkip development has almost sold out. Over 30 properties at Langhouse Gardens have been snapped up, with just one remaining for just under £300k. The three and four-bedroom, detached and semi-detached properties by Merchant Homes have proved so popular that all but one is reserved. Linda McLuskie, sales and marketing director for Merchant, said: “Since launching Langhouse Gardens last year, it has been incredibly popular with growing families. “Inverkip is a really desirable village within Inverclyde and has an idyllic setting thanks to its closeness to the Firth of Clyde. Plans would see 160 flat built on the parking lot owned by Rangers Football Club in Edminston Drive.

A pre-application consultation document found that resident in the area were divided by the plans. One resident complained the flats would be a complete eyesore but others thought it would be an improvement in the area.
