Every week, supply and demand for commodities will change in Sea of Thieves as you navigate through Trade Routes. Raise your Emissary Flag for the Merchant Alliance, purchase Commodity Crates, and sell them where they will make the most profit. Buy low and sell high by paying attention to which commodities are in surplus in one Outpost and where they’re sought-after.
Outpost Inventories (Week of May 30, 2021)
Here is what is in surplus and sought for this week in Sea of Thieves. You can confirm this by checking the Outpost Inventory next to the Merchant Alliance vendor at any Outpost.

As an Emissary for the Merchant Alliance in Sea of Thieves, you’ll be embarking on different Trade Routes to sell Commodity Crates to different outposts; each outpost will have one commodity in surplus, and one commodity that is highly sought-after buying commodities in surplus from one outpost and selling them to an outpost where they are sought-out will result in profit.
The Sea of Thieves community has found a few ways to efficiently make the rounds to maximize their profit and value from these Trade Routes. Our method essentially involves going around all seven Outposts in Sea of Thieves in a circle and buying all Commodity Crates at each one.
Forts may pack a tougher challenge in this brand new season.
In case you weren’t aware
Sea of Thieves switched from monthly content updates earlier this year to seasonal updates instead. This may sound like a downgrade, but this choice was made so the team could have a bit less crunch plus ensure each update has much more content. Thus far there hasn’t been much outrage, so it seems that change has worked in Rare’s favor. And fans should only be even more excited, as the team has announced today that
Sea of Thieves Season Two is now available to all players! You can check out the official update trailer below.

Out now on Xbox and PC. Updated on 15 April 2021
Sea of Thieves, having swabbed the deck and washed away the remnants of its inaugural season, is now embarking on its next adventure, with Season 2 introducing the lucrative Forts of Fortune world event, Emissary improvements, a new trade route system, and more.
The flagship addition this season - if only because it takes the form of a bloody enormous red skull cloud that s not exactly easy to miss - is the new Forts of Fortune world event. Quite whether or not it ll be enough of a change from the existing skeleton forts to justify a third re-skin of the long-running feature remains to be seen, but Rare is promising tougher waves of enemies, including Skeleton Lords, and a final even fiercer foe. The pay-off for all this is increased rewards, including items to boost Athena s Fortune reputation.
