MIHS students excel with Log Boom Radio at Seafair | Mercer Island Reporter

KMIH 889 The Bridge Log Boom Radio’s three-day broadcast over Seafair Weekend Festival was a resounding success as the student staff tapped into all the live action from the Stan Sayers pits from Aug. 4-6. Summer Celebration is set for July 15 and will feature the return of the community parade to kick off the festivities in addition to live music, art vendors, Penguin Productions short plays, kids’ activities, a reptile tent, community booths, food trucks, the signature fireworks show and more.

Mercer Island High School junior Ava Yeh won first place in the under-18 division in the 25th Biennial American Harp Society National Competition held May 31 to June 4. She was selected as one of eight finalists for her division to compete live in Los Angeles at the Colburn School of Music after a preliminary screening. Goats galore | Mercer Island Reporter

The Rent-A-Ruminants goats returned to Islander Middle School (IMS) on June 7. For the next five to seven days, they are removing vegetation from the stormwater detention pond next the school. The IMS campus is closed to the community during school hours. Community members wanting to see the goats can do so after school hours, and people should not feed the goats.
