Kids enjoyed their time at Mercer Island PTA’s Special Services and Learning Differences (SSALD) committee’s inaugural SPED Community Day to celebrate belonging and inclusion on May 4 at the Northwood Elementary School lower parking lot. Rotary Club of Mercer Island sponsored the event with support from the Mercer Island School District. The free May the Fourth gathering welcomed all families to meet with city officials (including those from the police and fire departments), touch a truck, visit about 20 resource tables, participate in various activities and workshops and enjoy entertainment.
