Menzies Research Centre s Nick Cater says “visibility was clear” on the day of the helicopter crash in Queensland, making it “really strange” why it occurred.
“It’s really strange what went wrong here. Why did this crash occur,” Mr Cater told Sky News host Caleb Bond.

“The idea you can give up coal and gas tomorrow and that things are all just run smoothly because we got tonnes of windmills and they’re putting in more transmission lines … it is just crazy talk,” Mr Cater told Sky News host Pita Panahi.
“Anybody who has looked at the Engineering requirements of this … it’s nuts.”
Menzies Research Centre’s Nick Cater says if Australia is getting dependent on China for its supply of wind turbines and solar panels, the country is in “serious trouble”.
“We are really in big trouble over this, and I think we have to address this question above all before we go too far down this wind and solar route,” he told Sky News host Peta Credlin.
