Ricardo Gonzalez Gutierrez, better known around the world as Cepillin, was put to rest last week after his death last Monday. Local performers in the clown industry continue to honor the entertainment giant and lament that he left during one of the industry’s most difficult times.

Longtime Laredo Morning Times photographer and community figure Cuate Santos retired Thursday after a full career documenting everything from Mexican and U.S. presidents to big-time sports figures.
Santos also has taken pictures at the Menudo Bowl and the Jalapeno Festival, where “Hey Cuate!” could be heard wherever he walked.
