Karthaus Christmas Eve Standoff

Karthaus Christmas Eve Standoff 9:09 pm Clearfield County District Attorney Ryan Sayers spoke out on the recent standoff in Karthaus that led to 46-year-old Shannon David Quick being taken into custody. Sayers says a 302 Warrant (also known as a Mental Health Warrant) was issued and executed at Quick’s home on Potter Street on Christmas Eve. This after Officials say Quick threatened his mother and child. The Warrant called for Quick to have a Mental Health Evaluation done, but Officials say he refused to go, and that’s when Quick barricaded himself in the house beginning a standoff. Officials say Quick told them he had firearms inside the home. After failed negotiations with Quick, pepper spray gas and other tactics were used to force Quick out of the home. State Police and the “SERT” team were on scene for more than 12 hours.
