Good morning. To kick off today’s topic, let’s review findings from the 2020-2021 study by the Equal Opportunities Commission. They find:
- 80% of people with mental illness reported discrimination against them;
- 70% had fewer promotion opportunities;
- Not getting hired due to their condition;
- Near 90% felt mental health support was necessary, only 12.5% said they had access to such support;
- 1/5 who do not have mental illness held stigmatized views against those who do, with more than half worrying those who are mentally ill would harm others.
