Have you and lasted nearly 300 billion in investments to Community Behavior Health Clinics around the country by the crisis support. This is just under one hour. Treating Mental Health on par with physical health. Let this be remembered as the year where we laid the gauntlet to everyone. We challenged everyone to join us. Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics have only been around for a short amount of time. But they have absolutely made a mark. I think there is nothing more fitting then to have the champions and perhaps the instigators, the people that got most in trouble, the most in the way of making sure we got this done, senator roy blunt with us today. I think it is only fitting that they get to talk about the success of really embedding within america what we consider essential health care for all americans. 90 million 90 percent of americans believe that there is a Mental Health crisis. Today, we are talking about providing to americans 24 7 support for crisis care. Tha
What did what type of treatment did you receive then . Was it a different kind of treatment, or did you receive better care through the v. A. . I received as my spinal cord injury and my paralysis i received excellent care regarding that. And i go to richmond at hunter homes mcguire v. A. Medical center down there for their spinal cord clinic, because its top notch. Their psychologists there are very well listeners, but, again, theyre not trained about, you know, military sexual trauma. You bring it up and theyre like, oh. Thats kind of like their first thing and then you know, their first expression, and at that point you kind of feel like oh, you know, im just this, you know, this dirty thing that they just happened to stumble in. Not that im downing any of them. Its just the fact that thats the stigma that i feel personally when you get a reply of, oh. You know, when you say that youre sexually assaulted. Thank you. Miss kenyon can you share with us your experience in terms of what
People that were paying attention. How many of you read the paper these days . [laughter] does i think they were ribbon around the papers trying to decide riveted around the papers trying to decide . I just dont know. I think the bigger impact really was the Grassroots Efforts that took lays within the plant, where people had to, within shifts, and in brakes had to inform people the fact that most of the employees got it that all they wanted for at the was dollarhe u v w signs. Reported right after that by the ap that they have had to sell 300 million in assets over the past several years just to survive. This one. This one. There was kind of some argument about, well, which came first . We need to address the Substance Abuse issue before we can make headway on the Mental Health issue. On the flip side, the Mental Health practitioners would say, no, we need to address the depression or what have you before we can really make headway on the Substance Use. And i think what people are really beginning to understand, especially in the last decade, that they have to be treated at the same time and not just treated at the same time in parallel, but treated at the same time in a very integrated fashion. If you google dual disorder, you will see hypertension and diabetes, but you never hear problems in treating those two disorders. I think the reason is doctors, nurses, pharmacists are educated in both, and, very importantly, the money comes out of the same pot. So, so often theres a separate pot for Mental Health money and Substance Abuse money, and it has produced an unnecessary, really divis
Neil kids against guns, how about, mr. President , kids as prop against debt. Welcome, everybody, im neil nel its the president s idea to have kids behind him to put a face on violence out of control. Why not the same kids that put a face on debt that is out of control . That if theyre used at props for executive action on getting guns off the street, why not props for executive action and timely getting spending under control. After all, those kids will be paying the bills for that debt, and the very real victims keep ignoring that debt. No skin on the politicians leave it to the next generation, but tell it to that generation because the kids do not comprehend bills now, but they will know them well when they pay for it not many years from now, saddled with debt that adults refuse to pay, and now entitlement programs the kids will never see. That is not fair. That is not right. And that, my friend, is washington being childish. Time for politicians today to act like adults because i
