Tamar Braxton appeared on Taraji P. Henson’s
Peace of Mind With Taraji series and opened up about the reason why she attempted to take her own life.
“I didn’t want him to be embarrassed in front of his friends,” said Braxton to Henson. “Here is this loudmouth ghetto mama.”
The actress asked Braxton, “You thought he would be better without you?” Braxton replied, “I thought in that moment.”

Tamar Braxton was hospitalized following a suicide attempt and said living her life in the public eye pushed her to the edge.
Braxton’s then-boyfriend, David Adefeso, called for medical attention after she was found unresponsive in their Los Angeles Ritz-Carlton hotel room.
The
Braxton Family Values star was found unresponsive on July 16 at the Ritz-Carlton Residences in downtown Los Angeles. Braxton was then transferred to a local hospital facility to receive more specialized mental health treatment. She has since spoken out about that terrifying moment, previously telling Tamron Hall on her show, That was the lowest point of life. I m just going to be 100 percent. There has been a time where I wanted to, but this was the first time where I ve actually acted on it. I already felt dead. I felt choked. It was about feeling like I could never be myself and being misunderstood and having the stigma of the angry Black woman
Tamar Braxton has publicly revealed some moving details behind her purported suicide attempt in July.
Braxton was a guest on Taraji P. Henson’s Facebook Watch show “Peace of Mind With Taraji P. Henson,” where, in a recent trailer clip, she opened up about her feelings leading up to that instant, and why her 7-year-old son Logan was a factor.
“Logan was the reason why I made that decision. I just felt like he deserved better. I felt like I was embarrassing him, being a fool on TV.”
