Coughlin High property sold for $1.65M

The Wilkes-Barre Area School Board on Monday agreed to sell the Coughlin High School property for $1.65 million. City Mills LLC of Brooklyn, N.Y., is the buyer and plans to renovate the school building in downtown Wilkes-Barre for mixed residential and commercial uses, Solicitor Raymond Wendolowski said during a virtual board meeting. The sale is contingent on getting zoning approval and is not contingent on the company obtaining financing, Wendolowski said. Mendy Ginsberg is the developer affiliated with City Mills LLC, Wendolowski said. Ginsberg successfully converted five floors of the 14-story Citizens Bank building on West Market Street in downtown Wilkes-Barre into higher-end apartments.
