Plans revealed for 300 home development near busy Somerset pub
Opponents are already saying the town cannot cope with the proposals
Updated
Plans have been revealed for a potential 300-home development next to a Somerset pub.
An application submitted to Mendip District Council mentions a potential development for between 250 and 300 homes on the land to the north of the White Post Inn, south of Midsomer Norton.
The plans have been outlined in an application to determine whether an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) would be needed on the site.
A similar application on the same site, for a 188-home development as well as a three-form primary school, was refused by the council in 2016.
