MENANDS - Firefighters in Menands had to trudge through snow to get to a house fire call.
Crews found the basement of a house on Menand Road full of smoke around 9 a.m. Tuesday morning.
The fire was caused by a malfunctioning dryer.
Crews were able to put it out quickly.
The road was closed for a time, but has reopened.
