Cummings Africa Foundation Kicks Off SGBV Trauma Trainings

Dr. Francien Chenoweth Richardson The Cummings Africa Foundation (CAF) has commenced a four-day Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV) trauma training for community leaders, healthcare professionals, policymakers and civil society organizations. The training that began on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at a local resort (Musu Spot) in Congo Town, focuses on establishing key concepts and approaches to persons who may have very little or no knowledge working with SGBV trauma survivors and develop the capacity of those who are currently working in the SGBV prevention and response arena but require additional specialized training. CAF action strategy in addressing SGBV trauma is through Assistance, Advocacy and Awareness (3As). CAF recognized that Liberia and the world continue to battle the scourge of COVID-19, but there is another crisis, rape and SGBV, that can no longer be taken lightly.

Obuasi Area PEMEM launches strategic plan The Obuasi Area Pentecost Men’s Ministry (PEMEM) has launched a four-year strategic plan to reposition the Ministry to support the growth of the Pentecost church. The ‘Vision 2024’ which is on the theme “sharpening men to possess the nations”, aimed to build the capacity of the people to transform the nation through Christianity. Pastor Moses Nartey, Leader of the Men s Ministry, speaking at the launch, said members needed to help achieve the objectives of the strategic plan. He said the strategic plan was part of efforts to revive the Men s Ministry to help achieve its goals as well as the holistic objectives of the Church of Pentecost in possessing the nations for Christ, human and national transformation.

The vision 2024 (2020- 2024), under the theme, Sharpening Men to posses the Nations, is aimed at possessing and building the capacity of the people to transform the nation through Christianity. According to him, the strategic plan forms part of efforts to revive certain aspects of the Men s Ministry in achieving its goals as well as the holistic objectives of the Church of Pentecost in possessing the nations for Christ, human and national transformation.
