Even after three marriages, I m still ignorant about love
Valentine s almost makes us forget - love can wither and expire as easily as flowers

When I think of love, I think of the William Goldman line about Hollywood: ‘No one knows anything.’ (I apply this to most things these days, from the mutation of the pandemic to the plot twists of the Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks.) It’s unfathomable; you can’t touch it or see it but then like a garish iceberg, it floats by every Valentine’s day, claiming to be all pink padded hearts and flowers. But flowers wither and expire and so, often, does love.
