New Memorial Union art exhibit features OSU pandemic photos
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Anyone venturing onto the Oregon State University Corvallis campus in the last year has noticed how empty it is due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The emptiness struck Oregon State alumnus James Schupp, a Corvallis photographer. He decided to use his favorite artform to capture that uncanny feeling, and his photos are now on display in the Memorial Union Concourse on campus through June 11.
In the 62 photos on display, Schupp captures beautiful but deserted scenes he started photographing in March 2020. He has taken around four or five pictures a week on campus since the pandemic began in 2020, using both his iPhone and his Nikon.
