So, now theyre banning together to tell Insurance Companies as a group that it takes longer than 24 months to rebuild a community. 5,300 homes burns. We are rebuilding at an unprecedented rate and weve only rebuilt 18 . So, how are they not getting that it takes more than 24 months . We dont understand. Thats why were having this rally today. The state insurance commissioner has written to Insurance Companies once in may and again this week asking them to extend benefits for families who were still rebuilding beyond the twoyear period stated in their policy. But thats all he can do. The commissioner does not have the power to make Insurance Companies cover policies longer than the minimum set in state law.
