Young riders were taking advantage of a cool fall day Wednesday to enjoy the pump track at Tannery Knobs Bike Park in Johnson City.
Stretching more than 40 acres, the park features trails with a variety of different skill levels for biking enthusiasts. The bike park also offers a bird’s eye view of the city’s Memorial Park Community Center.
Johnson City officials aren’t yet sure what the plan for 530 E. Main St., the current site of the Johnson City post office, is just yet. But the first step is getting the keys back. While nothing has been decided on what to do with the building once the city regains control of it, there are some ideas. Trivette said one possibility is an extension of Memorial Park Community Center. Another idea is to use the space as a city hall annex to increase the city’s administrative space. But nothing has been officially decided yet. However the city decides to use the property, Trivette said the city is doing everything they can to make sure the transition from its current use is as easy for city residents as possible.
