PARIS, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV) – Free haircuts were offered to Paris 95 students at Memorial Elementary School on Tuesday.
The school district brought in hairstylists to cut hair in the school’s gym.
Paris 95 Superintendent Dr. Jeremy Larson believes these haircuts will give students extra confidence before the start of school.
“We want them to feel good as they come in and have a little extra confidence,” Larson said. “So those that might not be able to afford the haircut, we want to make sure that they’re provided that opportunity.”
Larson went on to say that the first day of classes tends to give some children anxiety. However, he expects that the haircuts will allow students to focus more on the classroom.
