EVANSVILLE, Ind. Arlinda Payne has been fielding some of the calls herself.
Ahead of a COVID-19 vaccination clinic at Memorial Baptist Church on Saturday, the founder of the Black Nurses of Evansville and other nurses and employees of the church have been signing up as many people as they can. People call and the workers fill out the necessary state paperwork for them, since Memorial Baptist isn’t listed as an official vaccination site on state websites.
In an effort to bolster vaccinations among Evansville s Black and brown populations and the community as a whole, Ascension St. Vincent will run the clinic out of the church’s gym at 605 Canal St. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
