A COMMUNITY food bank has secured a permanent indoor home after planning permission for a new street food market at a former bus depot was granted by councillors. The Old Kilpatrick Food Parcels (OKFP) project will use part of one of the warehouses at Gavinburn Business Park in the village to cook hot meals and provide indoor waiting facilities for some of the people from the village, Bowling and Dalmuir who use the service. Members of West Dunbartonshire Council’s planning committee last week approved an application for a ‘change of use’ of part of the business park site, paving the way for occasional street food markets at the Dumbarton Road facility.
