MELROSE Members of the Massachusetts National Guard who traveled to Washington, D.C., to provide extra security throughout the week of President Joe Biden s inauguration have returned to the Bay State.
Buses carrying members of the 182nd Infantry Regiment, who are based in Melrose, arrived at the armory in the city shortly after 5:15 p.m. Saturday.
Melrose Mayor Paul Brodeur encouraged residents to welcome the troops back by lining the sidewalks around the armory but while wearing face masks and with appropriate physical distancing.
