He knows this is just new data and now is the time for the fda to do its job to evaluate the safety and efficacy of the vaccine. He continues to urge all americans to mask up and follow Public Health guidelines until it is their turn to get vaccinated. I know there might be a lot of questions about the trial data or Johnson Johnson. I will not get ahead of the experts, who you all get to hear from in the next hour in our Public Health briefing from the Covid Response team. They will discuss this and what this means then. So, i dont think i need to reintroduce our panel. But what theyre going to offer us, i think, is a way to look at the year, and back at the year in a context of cyber and health care, and give us a little bit different way to look at the latest efforts to get the vaccine out to the public. Basically, the New York Times reported that Cyber Attacks related to cold storage of the vaccine have been going on since august. Its unclear whether this is about ransomware or something more sinister. But well get to that in a minute. What i thought wed do is divide the discussion basically into three parts. Were going to look at the broader issue of cyberthreats and attacks of the Health Care Sector as we sort of wrestle through a pandemic.

Will it really work . The states top doctor is feeling the pressure and the resentment from many people in the community. Today he defended his decision. He said california needs to stay home. Because cases are continuing to hit record highs almost daily. He pointed to the success rate of shut downs in europe. Belgium put in a three week stay at home order. Its positive ratd fell from 21 to 8 in that time. England had a four week order. Cases dropped by 30 . He says he understands the restrictions are inconvenient. But its what the state has to do at this time as hospitals become over crowded. The goal of saving lives become threatened when the system isnt as robust and strong as it can be. Rules go into effect, aimed at stopping the effect of covid. The stay at home order is not as restrictive as the one in march. But it applies to all counties in the purple tier. That means all bay area counties except for three. That could change if the counties slide from red to purple. They say its a small price to pay to curb the spread of the virus. This was absolutely bustling today with people shopping, dining, and enjoying live music. All things they wont be able to do after 10 00 tonight, when state leaders implement what they call a limited stay at home order. The curfew will end at 5 00 tomorrow morning.
