ATC rejects bail plea of MPA Faisal Zaman National February 13, 2021 HARIPUR: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) here on Friday rejected the bail application of Member Provincial Assembly Faisal Zaman. The MPA, belonging to a wealthy family reportedly owning ships and known asjahazaan wala due to this link, has been behind bars since January 11 in the murder case of PTI’s local leader Malik Tahir Iqbal and a former councillor Sardar Gul Nawaz. The two were gunned down by unknown attackers on the night of September 13, 2020 when they were on the way to Ghazi from Kotehra village. Through a four-page written order, the ATC judge, Aurangzeb Khattak, observed that the oral and documentary evidence available on record shows that there was a prima facie case against the accused and he was not entitled to the concession of bail.

NAB initiates inquiry against Faisal Zaman Peshawar January 17, 2021 PESHAWAR: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has initiated an inquiry against Member Provincial Assembly Faisal Zaman for accumulating assets beyond his known sources of income. Sources said the NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had sent a letter to the deputy commissioner Haripur to provide details of the properties owned or sold by MPA Faisal Zaman and his family members. The district administration, they said, had been asked to provide the details of properties of the MPA to the NAB office by January 19. Faisal Zaman was elected MPA from Haripur as an independent candidate. He has been winning elections from his Ghazi constituency in Haripur district. He also defeated former chief minister Pir Sabir Shah. His family is rich and is often called “Jahazan Wala” as it owned ships.

MPA Zaman arrested for PTI leader’s murder CTD to present accused in court again today PHOTO:MOHAMMAD SAQIB ABBOTABAD: Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has sent Member Provincial Assembly Faisal Zaman behind bars after cancellation of his bail in the assassination case of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Malik Tahirul Iqbal at Ghazi in Haripur district on Monday. The accused was taken into the custody of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and transferred to a police station. Unidentified people had killed Iqbal and his driver Sardar Gul Nawaz on September 14, 2020 in Kotera village of Ghazi tehsil. Iqbal, 52, was on his way back home in Ghazi tehsil in his car after offering Fateha on the death of a friend in Kothra village at around 9pm when unknown attackers ambushed him.
