The tedious nature in which it has consumed the news in recent weeks along with copious amount of expert analysis has been the detractor for me; I might have enjoyed watching some of the games otherwise.

Royal Highland Show site turned into mass vaccination centre 4 February 2021 | A new vaccine centre has launched at the Royal Highland Centre, Edinburgh The Royal Highland Show s ground will be used as a mass vaccination centre with the capacity to vaccinate more than 1,000 people every day. The site, which usually hosts over 220 events attracting over 1 million visitors a year, has been largely dormant due to Covid-19 restrictions. However, the Royal Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland (RHASS) Members’ Pavilion, a £5m venue completed days before lockdown in March 2020, will now become a vaccination centre. According to the society, the Edinburgh-based site will have the capacity to vaccinate more than 1,000 people every day, seven days a week .

Army gives Covid-19 jabs at mass vaccination centre The Army is carrying out vaccinations at the Royal Highland Centre (Andrew Milligan/PA) The Army has begun giving people Covid-19 jabs at a mass vaccination centre at the Royal Highland Centre just outside Edinburgh. A team of vaccinators from the armed forces was invited to staff the centre after NHS Lothian put the finishing touches in place and launched it on Wednesday. Over the last two days, around 1,800 people have been given their first dose of protection against the virus. The armed forces will provide around 20 vaccinators for up to two weeks, while more training and induction takes place, before the NHS teams switch back.

NHS Lothian opens third mass vaccination centre NHS Lothian has opened a new mass vaccination centre in Ingliston.  The newest mass vaccination centre, the third in Lothian will be capable of vaccinating more than 1,000 people every day, seven days a week. Located in the Members’ Pavilion, the centre will have nine vaccination stations. It will initially be staffed by vaccinators from NHS Lothian, before the British Armed Forces staff the centre for around two weeks. It will revert to the NHS vaccinators after more training and inductions are carried out. The new vaccination centre is the first of two planned for the Royal Highland Centre, which will become operational in March.
