Lafayette Senator New Chair of Senate Democratic Caucus Lafayette State Senator Gerald Boudreaux has been elected as the new Louisiana State Senate Democratic Caucus. Boudreaux, who represents parts of Lafayette, St. Landry and St. Martin Parishes, will be taking the place of Troy Carter. Carter recently won a special election to the District 2 2 Congressional seat representing Louisiana. Boudreaux says he is very humbled to be chosen to fill this important seat. He adds, I will strive to ensure our members have the tools they need to succeed in pushing our priorities forward while working towards consensus across party lines for the betterment of our state and our communities.
