Ricky Skerritt confirmed as CWI president for second term

Ricky Skerritt. Ricky Skerritt was returned unopposed as president of Cricket West Indies (CWI) along with vice-president Dr Kishore Shallow at the regional governing body s annual general meeting (AGM), held virtually, on Sunday. They will serve a second two-year term, which will last until March 2023. Both Skerritt and Dr Shallow were both officially elected after their respective rivals Anand Sanasie, Honorary Secretary of the Guyana Cricket Board, and his running mate Barbadian CWI director Calvin Hope,  announced on April 1 that they were withdrawing from the contest. The AGM was first scheduled for May 28, but the representatives from the Guyana Cricket Board and the Barbados Cricket Association did not turn up for the virtual meeting, leaving the meeting short of the required quorum of nine. All of the territorial board member associations were fully represented.

Barbados, Guyana fail to show at CWI AGM

CWI President Ricky Skerritt and Secretary of the Guyana Cricket Board, Anand Senasie The Cricket West Indies (CWI) Annual General Meeting (AGM), due to be staged on Sunday, was adjourned to 11 April after the representatives of the Guyana Cricket Board and the Barbados Cricket Board failed to make an appearance. The incumbent president Ricky Skerritt and vice-president Dr. Kishore Shallow having served a two-year term in the post were up for reelection. Secretary of the Guyana Cricket Board,  Anand Sanasie, and Vice-President of the Barbados Cricket Board, Calvin Hope, were expected to mount a challenge. The AGM was due to start at 10:00 am on Sunday morning but had to be adjourned as there was a lack of a quorum.
