The roles of Vukile and Nomvula Khubeka will be played by veteran actor Fana Mokoena and Slindile Nodangala. They are a middle-aged couple from KZN, who decided to move to Joburg to start a new life.
Vukile started out as a waste picker until a dodgy opportunity presented itself, which he grabbed and used to make it to the top.
He now owns uThuli Waste, alongside his wife and children.
Vukile wants to grow a legacy for his family and create generational wealth, but most importantly, to keep his family united.
According to the creators, Vukile is charming with a sense of humour, but has a dark side if crossed. “He loves all his children but connects most strongly with Dudu, whom he sees as the rightful heir. When threatened, he loses control and can be dangerous. He believes he is a good husband to his wife. While he might have a side piece, his wife is his true partner.
