Melrose Open Studio Tour hosts summer art markets

Christina Rasmussen / Special to the Melrose Free Press Melrose Open Studio Tour (MOST) kicked off this season’s first summer art market on June 26 at the Beebe Estate, featuring works from local artists from communities up and down the North Shore of Boston. The art market showcases artists who exhibit and sell their work, while simultaneously bringing the community together to cherish local art. The first art market showcased 14 artists, and the second art market planned for July 31 will feature 20 artists showcasing paintings, jewelry, mosaic art, and more. The art market is set up similarly to the Melrose Farmers Market, but for artists. It’s a great way to showcase and support the Melrose arts community, and started last year as an open-air alternative to indoor exhibitions that became very popular with families in Melrose.
