DISCUSSIONS remain in progress as to whether one of west Dorset s biggest events of the summer will go ahead this year. Organisers of the Melplash Show will be holding meetings this week and it is hoped that a decision will be made soon as to when the event will be taking place. Those behind the running of the event originally planned to make an announcement by the end of March, but have yet to come to a conclusion - with the rules in regards to mass gatherings during the summer remaining unclear. The Melplash Show is one of the most-anticipated annual events in the area and before the coronavirus pandemic, routinely attracted as many as 20,000 visitors every year.
