Salisbury man Paul O'Hara banned from driving for a year

16 April 2012 - Saints footballer Lee Barnard arriving at Salisbury Crown Court to face charges relating to an assult at the White House pub in Southampton - exterior of Salisbury Court. A MAN has been banned from driving for a year after being found almost two times over the limit. On Saturday, January 23, Paul O Hara, of Juniper Road, Firsdown, was found in a car in a layby on Winterslow Road, Porton, surround by beer cans following information from the public. O Hara, 54, was then arrested and taken to Melksham Police Station, where he provided a positive sample almost two times the limit.

Police make one arrest and seize 15 vehicles in roads action day

The action day followed a similar successful operation in Chippenham and the surrounding areas the previous weekend. Wiltshire Roads Policing Unit were joined by members of the Special Constabulary Road Safety Unit and ANPR technology to conduct road checks alongside their regular duties. Officers identified, stopped and dealt with 38 drivers, including 15 vehicles stopped with no tax, with eight seized. Four vehicles were seized after their drivers were found to have no insurance and three vehicles were seized after the drivers were found to be driving other than in accordance with their licence, while three drivers were reported for seatbelt offences.

Drink driver Andrew Drake disqualified for 29 months

A drink driver has been banned for more than two years after being caught more than three times the legal limit near Amesbury. Andrew Drake, 36, of Devizes Road, Upavon, pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol at Salisbury Magistrates’ Court. On Friday March 12 he was disqualified from driving for 29 months, given a community order to carry out 240 hours unpaid work and ordered to pay costs and a victim surcharge. At 8pm on December 18 last year, the driving of Drake in a white Volkswagen Scirocco gave officers reason to stop the vehicle on the Longbarrow roundabout, at the junction of the A303 and A360.
