High Museum announces new board members

.-The High Museum of Art announced today the appointment of five new board members to serve three-year terms: Yolanda Frinks, Lillian Cousins Giornelli, Mark Hanson, Kevin Lee and Melissa Proctor. Daniel W. Boone III was named a life trustee.
We are thrilled to add these leaders to our board, said Rand Suffolk, the Highs Nancy and Holcombe T. Green, Jr., director. They each bring a unique perspective on our community as well as the Museums potential to impact our city in positive ways. We look forward to their increased involvement as we shape the future of the High.

ATLANTA In recent years a number of women have taken leadership roles in the male dominated sports world. But before many of them, Melissa Proctor laid the foundation of opening doors for young women just starting out.
At 15 years old, Proctor was already dreaming big. She had aspirations of becoming the first female coach in the NBA despite the fact she had never played basketball.
Although, she never got that job calling basketball plays, she did make it courtside as the first female ball attendant for the Miami Heat.

ATLANTA - The Atlanta Hawks will honor the legacy of civil rights icon Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at the first home game of the 2020-2021 NBA season.
Monday, Jan. 18, the Hawks will play the Minnesota Timberwolves while wearing the team s 2021-2021 MLK Nike City Edition uniforms. During the game, the team will honor King s legacy through messages in the State Farm Arena and on social media.
The game will be the first of four of what the team is calling Unity Nights, which will focus on aiming to unite the city of Atlanta in committing to make positive change in their communities.
